Boracay get-away: Day 1 (April 15)

Our flight to Kalibo was at 7 AM in the morning. So as early as 4:30 AM, my dad-in-law drove us to the domestic airport. Talk about early birds! Hahaha!

Anyway, it’s a good thing that there’s this Kiddie Travelers’ Lounge inside the airport so kids can play while waiting for the flight.

At about 6:45 AM, we were asked to go on board. And of course, before climbing up the plane, we took a lot of pictures. First time eh! :-) Even inside the plane, super picture taking parin while waiting for other passengers! Hahaha.

We landed at Kalibo airport earlier than we had expected! It was a very smooth flight indeed. Before we got off the plane, the three of us said: “thank you, papa Jesus” in unison then laughed.

Then we took a van going to Caticlan Jetty Port and paid 175php per head. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes! The staff from the Blue Mango Inn, where we stayed for four days, was already there waiting for us. He was holding up a white board with my name written on it so it would be easier for him to find me. He assisted us with our luggages on our way to the resort. We took a 10-minute boat ride then took a tricycle.

The beach was beautiful as I had expected it to be (medyo malumot nga lang). The weather was perfect. Beautiful, sexy girls were everywhere flaunting their gifted bodies in skimpy bikinis. Oh what a sight. I was teasing my husband the whole time.

Anyway, when we were led to our room by one of the Blue Mango staff, I realized that it wasn’t the standard room I reserved online. It’s one of those sophisticated Deluxe gardens rooms that they have! So I told the receptionist that it wasn’t the room that I paid for. Then she said, our room was upgraded by the owner for free before he left for Boston! I couldn’t believe our luck! (Thanks, Mr. Vaughan Pratt, for your generosity!)

After breakfast, we excitedly headed to the beach and took a plunge! It was extremely hot that day but we didn’t care. We liked staying at Station 3 because the ambiance was peaceful and quiet. It wasn’t crowded like the other stations. We loved it there. Especially the hammocks by the beach right infront of the Blue Mango Restaurant. A perfect spot for relaxation.

At around 2PM, we went back to the inn, took a bath and had a yummy lunch at the Blue Mango Restaurant. We were so tired and hungry! We ordered sizzling gambas and sinigang na hipon for only 600php.

After our late lunch, we all sat on the hammocks by the beach and enjoyed the sun. Then went for a very long stroll around Bora.

We also went shopping at D’ Talipapa. We bought t-shirts for only 75 pesos each. Sarong is only 130. Board shorts, 150. Key chains, bracelets and necklaces are also very cheap. So perfect for pasalubong.

We went back to the inn at around 5PM feeling so exhausted and sleepy so we decided to take a nap. But it turned out to be a very good-night sleep for us. So we woke up the next day! In short, our first night in Boracay wasn’t wisely spent coz we fell asleep. Sayang.
