:exclamation: This post contains spoilers. So read at your own risk!
I’d already started reading the book when I found out a month or two ago that Angels and Demons will be shown on big screen. I got pretty excited, so I made a last-ditch effort to finish reading the book as fast as I could and planned to see the movie on its first showing day. But since I was in Baguio (May 15) that time, I was not able to watch it.
For the past few weeks that I was reading the book, I couldn’t help but brag to my husband how interesting and intelligently-written the book was. At first he was skeptical, thinking that it might be just another anti-christ or anti-catholic kind of story like the controversial book-turned-into-movie The Davinci Code which is actually the sequel of Angels and Demons. So I told him, “No. This is different! This book is way better than The Davinci Code.” Then I started telling him about the plot — the Big Bang Theory versus the Moment of Creation stated in the bible (book of Genesis), how the deep rift began between Science and Religion, the antimatter technology (which is the most volatile substance ever known to man), how the ancient brotherhood called The Illuminati (“The Enlightened Ones”) resurfaced after 400 years to take their much awaited revenge against the Catholic Church for the murder of some underground scientists, how Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) helped the Vatican solve the mystery behind the murder of each Cardinal at the four Altar of Science, and so much more! Whew!
So after I answered all his questions about the book, I was able to convince him to watch the movie with me.

I purchased my own copy of the book yesterday for only P299. I’m reading it again!
To cut the long story short, we only got to see the movie last Wednesday after work. I couldn’t explain how excited I was. As in my heart was racing! I didn’t know what to expect. Although I learned from a forum that there were important parts in the book that were omitted in the movie to save time and probably to make it less controversial. Some important characters were removed and some were renamed. But I guess I was kinda hoping that they wouldn’t omit the parts that I love in the book. I am not a movie buff, but my husband is. There are things in the movie that disappointed me (well, a little!) because that’s not what happened in the book. I wish they did not omit the story behind the Pope, The Camerlengo (played by Ewan McGregor) and his mother because that would give emphasis as to why the Pope was murdered. That’s my favorite part in the book and they omitted it in the movie! :stubborn: On a positive note, there’s a scene in the movie that made me cry because it turned out to be a victory for one of the cardinals. That’s the only clue I can give you! LOL. I don’t wanna give too much spoilers!
Overall, I think the movie is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! But you’ll appreciate it more if you didn’t read the book because you have no expectations at all. So what are you waiting for? Watch Angels and Demons, or you’ll miss half of your life.

We recently had our much awaited trip to Baguio on May 15-17. I was with my team mates (Quality Team), and since May 16 marks our 5th wedding anniversary :cake: , I decided to to bring my husband with me so we could celebrate our special day :music: in the Summer Capital of the Philippines. :car:
We boarded the Victory Liner bus at exactly 10 a.m after our shift. The long hours of journey to Baguio was no joke! I swear I was bored to death! I wanted to sleep but I couldn’t. My butt hurt a little and my mouth got tired of talking and laughing for hours. When we finally arrived in Baguio, it was already 5 p.m. Whoa! :stubborn:

The Manor Hotel

I love this shot. Hehe.
We hailed a taxi that took us to Mountain Lodge. It’s an old house that was turned into a lodge and I couldn’t help but notice the musty smell. It’s located in front of Teacher’s Camp so we kept teasing each other that ghosts would suddenly appear in our pictures just like what’s reported on TV. :geez:
After our sumptuous dinner at Rose Bowl, :apple: my husband and I decided to sleep in our room while the rest of the guys had a short drinking session at the lodge’s terrace. Then we woke up early the next day to explore the beauty of Baguio.

The President’s Kingdom in Baguio.
Here are the places we visited during our tour: The Philippine Military Academy, Botanical Garden, Camp John Hay, Butterfly Garden, The Manor (it’s the most expensive hotel in Baguio. we love it!), Zigzag Road (you can see the lion’s head from here), The Wright Park, Good Shepherd, The Mansion, Baguio Market, Lourdes Grotto, and Burnham Park.

We love the Igorot outfit!

Find the lion’s head.
After our tour, we headed back to the lodge to take a rest. Two hours later, we went to Good Taste for dinner. The food was awesome, inexpensive and came in large servings! My jaw dropped in awe when I saw our bill. It’s just 2,300 for 11 persons!
k:
After dinner, we headed to Dug-out Bar because my team mates wanted to celebrate our last day in Baguio. I was too tired that night so I was hesitant to join the group (but I ended up joining anyway). And besides, I don’t drink at all. As in I hate alcohol! So after less than an hour, my husband and I left the bar to have that special moment alone. LOL. :hearty:
And the rest is history! *wink*
I woke up at 6AM today to catch Bo Sanchez on TV. It’s been my routine every Sunday morning while my son and husband are asleep. I’ve been watching The Feast for the past few weeks and I have to admit, I am now hooked! Brother Bo’s words of wisdom truly inspire me. His way of delivering the words of God is different from all the other preachers or speakers I’ve ever seen. He’s very spontaneous, lively and witty. He quotes verses from the Bible that are easy to understand and cites real-life examples that will make you pause and say “He just hit the nail on the head!”
While I was watching him talk about HAPPINESS this morning, I couldn’t help but smile. He’s right. We worry too much because we lack faith in God. :blank: People, nowadays, worry about losing their jobs due to global recession. But look at the birds in the sky…they just fly freely and don’t work for their food, but God provides for them.
To those who may not know, Bo Sanchez is also the best-selling author of numerous inspirational books available in the market today. I am reading 2 books at the moment, but as soon as I’m done reading them, I’m going to buy all the books written by Bro. Bo! :hearty: He truly is an inspiration. On that note, I’d like to invite everyone to join the Preacher in Blue Jeans and be inspired every single day! You can also watch him on ABC-5 every Sunday @ 6AM.
Anyway, I’d like to greet all the mommies out there… :cake:
Have a blessed Sunday with your family.
My brother-in-law finally got married with his long-time girlfriend yesterday. It was a simple wedding, yet filled with love and affection. The groom sang Beautiful in my eyes as a surprise number for his beloved bride during the reception. It was romantic beyond words!

The bride looked stunning with her long white gown…her eyes beaming with so much joy. My brother-in-law, who was wearing a tuxedo, looked equally handsome as he stood with pride next to his beautiful bride. It was a lovely wedding indeed! A dream come true for the newly weds.

Congratulations, Kuya Dandy and Cheryl! I’m sure you’ll be blessed with wonderful and lovely kids. You are so lucky to have found each other. Just keep the fire burning as you go through your exciting journey together. :hearty:
We love you both!
