Conzace: Every Supermom’s Health Partner

Since I resigned from work, I’ve made a decision to NOT put limits in my capabilities as a stay-at-home mom. Sure, being home 24/7 has its perks in terms of spending quality time with my kids and making sure their needs are attended to with utmost care. But in reality, there are a whole lot of other things that keep every mom as busy as she can be.

Like I always tell my friends, I never get bored because in the household I’m running, there’s always something to do, something to clean, something to learn, something to improve, something to change… and the list goes on! That’s why as busy supermoms,
keeping ourselves healthy should be our number 1 priority. Having a strong immune system protects us from easily getting sick so we can do amazing things for God (ministry work, helping others, etc.) and our family.

And I am so glad that through Conzace, I found a health partner that helps me achieve my goals as an effective homemaker.

The secret to strong immunity is in our white blood cells.

Do you know that dosing up on Vitamin C is not enough to boost our immune system? And here’s another shocking part: No matter how much Vitamin C we take on a daily basis, it will just play the same role because our body can absorb and use only up to 200mg of Vitamin C. And guess what, any excess will just be urinated! What a total waste! (Now that’s a real shock for someone like me who takes 1000-1500 mg of Vitamin C!)

So you might be wondering….how can Conzace help our immune system? What does it do exactly?

Conzace has a formula to make stronger white blood cells which means stronger immunity. It contains Vitamin C that helps develop white blood cells, Vitamins A & E that help intensify the protection of these white blood cells (100 IU of Vitamin E) and 25 mg of Zinc (higher amount of Zinc than other popular vitamins in the Philippines) that helps multiply white blood cells so that we can have enough to defend us against sickness. Also, Conzace is the #1 prescribed multivitamin by doctors for many years for Heavy Duty Immunity.

Upon learning about this, I stopped taking my daily dose of regular Vitamin C and started using Conzace together with my husband. To those who want to try it, Conzace is available at Watson’s, Mercury Drug and other leading drug stores nationwide at only P12.40 per capsule. For more information, visit Conzace on Facebook.

What’s Your Favorite Hospital?

I dread going to hospitals.

But when one of us at home gets sick, there’s only one hospital that we keep going back to…The Medical City.

In 2010, Greggy was confined at The Medical City for 5 days due to tonsillitis.

Nice & new facilities, friendly staff and excellent customer service all the time. This hospital has never failed us and treated us the way every customer would want to be treated. How impressive!

The lovely nurses at TMC. We dropped by their station to thank them and say goodbye.

How about you? What’s your favorite hospital in Metro Manila? Feel free to share your recommendations here! :-)

Anyway, have you noticed those medical gas cylinders at the hospitals? A medical gas cylinder is a portable oxygen tank which is used in hospital devices and instruments for both surgical and non-surgical applications. When I gave birth to my two kids via caesarean operation in 2006 and 2010, I saw a few oxygen  tanks around the operating room. Later on, it was explained to me that those tanks were used to supply the anesthesia. (Read this article if you’re interested to know how the anesthesia is administered during an operation). I was sedated the whole time and didn’t care much about the technicalities of every little thing that transpired during my two operations. I won’t understand all the jargons anyway. I was just grateful that it turned out well and that my baby and I were safe on those two separate occasions. God bless our brilliant doctors!

iSi is a good resource for a variety of gas cylinders such as Carbon Dioxide, Nitrous Oxide, Argon and Nitrogen. For more information on CO2 cartridges and other gas-filled tanks, feel free to check out their website. Being the world’s leading manufacturer, iSi sure has the largest product range to offer in the industry.

Exposure to Asbestos is Hazardous

Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that affects the membrane lining of the lungs and abdomen caused by on-the-job exposure to asbestos. Although there’s an alternative mesothelioma treatment available, it is incurable and often diagnosed in its late stages decades after the exposure to asbestos.

So for anyone who is exposed to asbestos at work, it is very important to follow appropriate precautions at all times.

No Smoking, Please!

I grew up in a home where both my parents smoke. When I was in high school, some classmates started smoking too. And naturally, some started drinking alcohol as well, thinking that it was cool to have vices.

That pretty much gave me a clearer picture of what I didn’t want to be.

On the other hand, I am very grateful for my circle of friends (then & now). Because they respect my decision and never try to influence me . (They know they won’t succeed anyway. Hehe.)

It’s good to know that my mom has recently stopped smoking (when she started having health problems.) I wish my papa would do the same thing before it’s too late. I seriously don’t want to see him puffing some Padron cigars when he reaches age 60-70.

Healthy Moms Are Happy Moms

Now that I have fully adjusted to the day-today lifestyle of a normal full-time mom and wife, the more that I’ve realized the importance of staying fit and healthy. Although being a full-time mom is my dream “job”, I won’t deny the fact that raising two equally active kids is not a piece of cake. Sometimes I get stressed out too. Thus, I made a decision to go back to running regularly on the treadmill and outdoor on weekends.

Doing a regular exercise renews my strength, keeps me away from unnecessary stress, and helps me keep up with my kids’ active lifestyle.

It is my goal to stay healthy so I can take care of my kids, homeschool them, and above all, enjoy them. For sure, kids won’t appreciate a mom who’s always impatient, angry and stressed out.

I usually run a minimum of 5K outdoors. I use my hydration belt and Nike Swift running sports bra to avoid back pains. I haven’t tried using any Bauerfeind supports though.

Running together is also my favorite bonding time with my husband.

Mummy Tummy

Even though I am fairly slim now (naks! di ako sanay! LOL), I still need to find ways to get rid of my bulging tummy and flabby arms.

Having gone through two cesarean operations with my two kids, it was harder to lose weight. Thus, bidding my “mummy tummy” goodbye is next to impossible.

Or is it? :-)

I’ve read some articles about burning belly fat. But to tell you honestly, I don’t like the idea of taking any supplement to achieve this goal.

I want to work hard for it. As in physically. :-)

One of the articles I read online suggests doing proper ab crunches at least 3 times a week instead of sit-ups. I was actually surprised to find out that sit-ups work on our hip flexors and help very little in firming our tummy. Hmmm….that’s interesting to know!

Mommies, I know that raising kids is a pretty demanding job. But let us not forget to take care of ourselves too. Remember, there’s no way that you can serve God and your family if you’re not physical fit. *wink*

Rejuvenated

Had a soothing one hour full-body massage last night. It was perfect. I felt so rejuvenated and relaxed. I look ten years younger now.

Needless to say, I think I’m ready to be a corporate slave again.

What do you think?

Why is it that when you’re older it is more difficult to lose weight? That is so unfair! LOL.

Kidding aside, I think the most logical explanation is that when you’re older, your metabolism tends to slow down.  So you need more effort and discipline as far as your weight is concerned.

Ok, fair enough then.

But come to think of it, does it also mean that when you’re older you also need the help of quick weight loss pills to compensate for your slow and deteriorating metabolism?

Stress reliever

Everytime I get stressed out and feel devastatingly tired, having a home service massage twice a month is what I consider as my stress reliever.  A good foot and back massage can really keep me rejuvenated and relaxed. So it’s really important for me to get a massage at least once a month. Otherwise, I will go ballistic! Hahaha!

Anyway, have you tried a massage chair? I always see some people trying it at the mall. If I remember correctly, I think it costs  around 50 pesos for 10 minutes. I haven’t tried it though.
