Not a Financial Expert

As of writing, I am reviewing the life insurance proposal I got from a former officemate. Clearly, I am no financial expert! Just looking at the figures make me want to faint. The financial terminologies alone (dividends, premiums, dismemberment, etc.) make me want to puke! Haha! It’s a good thing we both use a BlackBerry phone that enables us to discuss some of the things that I’d like to verify over BBM (BlackBerry Messenger).

I’ve read some online articles that provide helpful advice for term life insurance, educational plans and the like. Oh boy, finding the best insurance policy at affordable rates is not a very pleasant thing to do!

I asked a financial expert via Twitter and he suggested that I invest on mutual funds instead of educational plans.

Hmmm….I guess the key to financial success is educating one’s self before diving into investments. Otherwise, our hard-earned money will just vanish into thin air.

Necessity or not?

Purchasing a child insurance can be compared to using a seatbelt for protection against an unforeseen accident. As good parents, we all want our children to be safe all the time.  Especially when the time comes that we are no longer there to watch over them.

At present,  many people do not consider purchasing a life insurance as a necessity. But the truth is, whether we admit it or not, it is the only way that we can give our children the security they need for their future. It’s just sad that because of the poverty we are currently experiencing, not everyone can take advantage of the many benefits of having a life insurance.
