I am not a movie buff.

But once I see something that tickles my fancy, I would definitely watch it over and over again! Haha! And mind you, I even go to the extent of memorizing the characters’ dialogues. That’s how engrossed I can be.

Just like this movie, Tangled. I’ve probably seen it more than ten times. Yet each time I see it, it still gives me the same brand-new feeling I felt when I saw it the first time.

One of my favorite scenes in the movie

When baby Rapunzel was stolen by Mother Gothel, I cry.

Each time Rapunzel sings, I feel happy.

When Rapunzel and Flynn have kilig moments together, I feel like a high school girl all over again. LOL.

When Flynn Rider takes her to see the floating lanterns in person, I shed tears of joy knowing that her dream has been fulfilled. (What a great outdoor lighting! )

When Rapunzel finally reunites with her parents, I cry.

And oh! Has anyone noticed that remarkably emotional reaction of the palace guard when he showed up at the King and Queen’s door to inform them that the lost princess has returned after 18 long years?

Oh my! He didn’t say a word, but the expression on his face says it all. This scene makes me cry buckets of tears — and take note, each time I see this movie. Haha.

A fireproof marriage doesn’t mean that fire will never come. It means that when the fire comes, you will be able to withstand it. – One of my favorite quotes int he movie.

A few days ago, my husband bought a DVD of the Christian movie Fireproof. We’ve always wanted to watch this movie together because we knew it would bless our marriage. And true enough, it did! I couldn’t stop crying the whole time as Caleb, the lead male character in this movie, go through The 40-day Love Dare Challenge that will save his marriage.

My husband and I have been married for 6 years now. Our marriage, I believe, has always been stable. But just like any other marriages, I know that ours needs major improvement. And this life-changing movie opened both our eyes to every aspect of our marriage that needs to be worked on. I love my husband and I know he loves me just as much. But we need to learn how to love each other more unconditionally, just like how God loves us even if we don’t deserve it.

After watching Fireproof, my husband has started showing me little acts of kindness and sweetness again. Just like the old times. *wink*. He recently gave me a card and posted “I Love you” notes on my office computer. My friend, Jaq, saw it and said: “Yuck! Feeling teenager?!” Haha.

Anyway, with no further ado, here’s the trailer of the movie.

At work, inside burning buildings, Capt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter’s adage: Never leave your partner behind. At home, in the cooling embers of his marriage, he lives by his own rules.

Growing up, Catherine Holt always dreamed of marrying a loving, brave firefighter…just like her daddy. Now, after seven years of marriage, Catherine wonders when she stopped being “good enough” for her husband.

Regular arguments over jobs, finances, housework, and outside interests have readied them both to move on to something with more sparks.

As the couple prepares to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb’s father challenges his son to commit to a 40-day experiment: “The Love Dare.” Wondering if it’s even worth the effort, Caleb agrees-for his father’s sake more than for his marriage. When Caleb discovers the book’s daily challenges are tied into his parents’ newfound faith, his already limited interest is further dampened.

While trying to stay true to his promise, Caleb becomes frustrated time and again. He finally asks his father, “How am I supposed to show love to somebody who constantly rejects me?”

When his father explains that this is the love Christ shows to us, Caleb makes a life-changing commitment to love God. And with God’s help he begins to understand what it means to truly love his wife.

But is it too late to fireproof his marriage? His job is to rescue others. Now Caleb Holt is ready to face his toughest job ever…rescuing his wife’s heart.

:exclamation: This post contains spoilers. So read at your own risk!

I’d already started reading the book when I found out a month or two ago that Angels and Demons will be shown on big screen. I got pretty excited, so I made a last-ditch effort to finish reading the book as fast as I could and planned to see the movie on its first showing day. But since I was in Baguio (May 15) that time, I was not able to watch it.

For the past few weeks that I was reading the book, I couldn’t help but brag to my husband how interesting and intelligently-written the book was. At first he was skeptical, thinking that it might be just another anti-christ or anti-catholic kind of story like the controversial book-turned-into-movie The Davinci Code which is actually the sequel of Angels and Demons. So I told him, “No. This is different! This book is way better than The Davinci Code.” Then I started telling him about the plot — the Big Bang Theory versus the Moment of Creation stated in the bible (book of Genesis), how the deep rift began between Science and Religion, the antimatter technology (which is the most volatile substance ever known to man), how the ancient brotherhood called The Illuminati (“The Enlightened Ones”) resurfaced after 400 years to take their much awaited revenge against the Catholic Church for the murder of some underground scientists, how Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) helped the Vatican solve the mystery behind the murder of each Cardinal at the four Altar of Science, and so much more! Whew! So after I answered all his questions about the book, I was able to convince him to watch the movie with me.

<img class="blogimage" src="http://i44.tinypic.com/2wgehs4.jpg" border="0" alt=""
I purchased my own copy of the book yesterday for only P299. I’m reading it again!

To cut the long story short, we only got to see the movie last Wednesday after work. I couldn’t explain how excited I was. As in my heart was racing! I didn’t know what to expect. Although I learned from a forum that there were important parts in the book that were omitted in the movie to save time and probably to make it less controversial. Some important characters were removed and some were renamed. But I guess I was kinda hoping that they wouldn’t omit the parts that I love in the book. I am not a movie buff, but my husband is. There are things in the movie that disappointed me (well, a little!) because that’s not what happened in the book. I wish they did not omit the story behind the Pope, The Camerlengo (played by Ewan McGregor) and his mother because that would give emphasis as to why the Pope was murdered. That’s my favorite part in the book and they omitted it in the movie! :stubborn: On a positive note, there’s a scene in the movie that made me cry because it turned out to be a victory for one of the cardinals. That’s the only clue I can give you! LOL. I don’t wanna give too much spoilers!

Overall, I think the movie is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! But you’ll appreciate it more if you didn’t read the book because you have no expectations at all. So what are you waiting for? Watch Angels and Demons, or you’ll miss half of your life.
