Sadly, we all know that this reminder just falls on deaf ears.

Because the truth is, many still suffer from alcohol abuse.

So upon seeing this Alesis DM6 drum set, I was once again reminded of my small frustrations in life. Haha!

In high school, I tried to learn playing the guitar. But the neighbor who was teaching me at the time lost his patience and gave up on me. How cruel, right?! LOL. Then later on, I tried playing drums – which was a bad idea to begin with because it only left me feeling more frustrated.

And so I finally came to my senses and realized that music wasn’t for me.

I just hope and pray that my kids would develop interest in music. After all, their mom is a frustrated musician! LOL.

I used to love it when it rains, but not anymore.

With all the things needed to be done concurrently, I can’t afford to be lazy. There’s simply no room for procrastination. Sometimes I wish I had extra hands and could be at two or more places at a time. But you see, I could only do so much.

Last Saturday, I had three appointments. I promised my mom I would take her to a beauty salon for a rejuvenating diamond peel treatment, then go to a business meeting afterwards. But on the day of my appointments, I had to cancel both. I learned the night before that there’s a PTA meeting at my son’s new school.

The PTA meeting was scheduled at 8 AM, but since I still had a lot to do in the office, I asked the school owner if there’s another schedule. She said there’s another one at 10 AM.

So all the way from the office, I had to fly to my son’s school to catch the 10 AM PTA meeting (I was 15 minutes late) — only to find out as soon as I arrived that I couldn’t join because the said schedule was only for nursery and kinder parents.

I wanna cry.

Things can really be frustrating sometimes. *sigh*

Why is it so hard to lose weight, yet so easy to gain it back? The funny thing is, the weight gain just happens…effortlessly. So unfair, right? Waaaaa!

During a coaching session, one of our agents shared that he had been a victim of identity theft. His credentials were used to obtain a loan from SSS (Social Security System) and now his salary is automatically being deducted 1,200 a month for a loan he didn’t even use. Poor guy!

With the existence of Internet, anyone can be a victim of identity theft. Criminals can open credit card accounts, obtain loans and even mortgages using your name and other personal identifiable information. Sounds pretty scary, right?

No wonder RFID blocking wallets, secure badge holders, and secure sleeves sell like hotcakes in the US.

There are many articles online that give tips on how to protect our identity. Better be safe than sorry.

Temporarily, we were back to our old set up. Every time we don’t have a nanny, my little girl stays at grandma’s, who just lives a few blocks away from us. This kind of set up always breaks my heart each time I have to pack her stuff.

Anyway, as if not having a nanny wasn’t enough to give us worries, my son’s school driver sent me his resignation via text the next day our dear nanny left.

Oh good grief!
Being in the corporate world for so long, I didn’t know that resignation text was possible until that very day!

Ang hassle, di ba? Nakipagsabayan pa talaga. Tsk.

On a positive note, it’s a good thing we also have a stay-out helper who takes care of the household chores from Monday to Saturday. Having her around is a big help. I can spend time with my kids without having to worry about the dishes, the laundry and a messy home. Thank God for these sweet little blessings!

Drug addiction is a personal disease. Each treatment only becomes successful if the one who’s addicted decides to take the first step to put an end to it. And the rest of the best solutions to fight against addiction will be provided by a rehabilitation center that is just right for them.

It’s never too late to save the people close to us.

And more often than not, they don’t let their heart rule their mind. Building a family is simply out of their league. They consider marriage as their last priority.

Read this — LAST PRIORITY.

Until they reach the age of… uhm…what? 35? 38? 40?

I know a few good women who are successful in what they do, but still feel empty inside. What’s sad is, they’re way past the marrying age now. True love came knocking at their door once, but they let it slip away thinking that “it wasn’t the right time.” Now their days are filled with anxious thoughts.

Will I ever get married? Or am I only meant to wear those bridesmaid dresses at a friend’s wedding year after year?

I guess everyone reading this blog will agree with me that none of us wants to live alone. We all want to have our own family. There’s nothing wrong with us women to desire more for ourselves. But let’s not forget the fact that we are God’s creation and we shouldn’t live a life conforming to this world’s standards, but His.

Somebody asked me before, “Why did you get married early? Were you pregnant?”

Seriously, this question shocked me. But what I found more shocking was the fact that this person just sees marriage as a worthless piece of paper – a legal contract between two people who didn’t have a choice.

I see marriage as a covenant with God. A lifetime commitment of two people who truly love each other.

I was 23 when I got married. And I wasn’t pregnant. I wanted to be a career-woman, too. But when I met my husband, I changed my mind. LOL.

Anyway, this was my answer to the question. “When you’ve already found the one that God made for you, why would you want to let him go?”

The thing is, God chose to bless me with this gift at an early age. Shouldn’t I feel very blessed? Others spend all their lives searching for a man that has enough guts to marry them, but couldn’t find one.

Now think about it!

Overloading of vessels (especially during holidays), poor maintenance, and not-so-strict enforcement of regulations that often lead to disaster are the primary reasons why I have never boarded on a ship. And to top it all off, I don’t know how to swim and I can’t stand the long hours of travel from Manila to any province in Visayas or Mindanao.

One more thing, the probability of a ferry accident is much higher than that of a plane crash, right?

I guess what bothers me the most is that some shipping companies do not ensure proper maintenance of their vessels. Hence, offshore injury (or injuries) resulting to death is more likely to happen.

If the luxury ship Titanic sank in 1912, then it could happen to any ships – at least in my opinion. LOL.

Ahhh, Samal Island! I’ll embrace your beauty some other time.
