I’ve just upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.8.5. I thought everything was fine until I tried creating a new post. Guess what? I can’t add images! Nothing happens whenever I click on the “add image” icon. I also noticed that there’s no icon for bold, italic, insert link and the like. I tried adding tags, but it’s not working either.

What have I done wrong? All my plugins work perfectly though.

UPDATE: This issue is now fixed. One of my plugins (WP-Grins) was the culprit! When I deactivated it, all the icons showed up and worked. Thanks, EarnBlogger for your advice!

Anyway, you will be seeing broken links when you click on some of my blog’s pages coz I haven’t fixed them all yet. I have installed WordPress 2.6 and as I expected, some of the plugins I’m currently using are not yet compatible with it.

There are so many things I wanted to share but I guess I am just too tired to start writing about things that people won’t find interesting anyway. And besides, I don’t wanna talk about work all the time. That’ll be way too boring for my readers!

Moving forward, has anyone upgraded to WordPress 2.6 yet? I might upgrade this blog this weekend. But isn’t it weird (and at the same time – amazing) how developers can release a new version way too soon? I just mentioned on my previous post that I’d just upgraded this blog to 2.5.1 and then all of a sudden when I logged in to my WP admin page, there goes this UPDATE ALERT stating that WordPress 2.6 has just been released!

The bottom line is, I just wanna make sure that all the plugins I’m using on this blog are compatible with the latest version. Otherwise, I might as well wait for the plugin developers to upgrade all the plugins they developed so they will be compatible with WordPress 2.6. Waiting for a month or two won’t hurt for sure, will it?

I’ve been looking for the best and easiest way to upgrade my WordPress installation for this blog but all the tutorials I read online was too complicated. I was scared to lose all my files and start from scratch again (just like what happened to my very first WordPress blog).

Anyway, Dhadha suggested that I upgrade to WordPress 2.5.1 using Fantastico Deluxe in cPanel. Thanks, sis, for the great suggestion! To be honest, I did not know that Fantastico can do this whole upgrade process with no sweat!

Don’t worry because your plugins and themes will not be affected. But it is still a good practice to back up all your files just in case something goes wrong.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to deal with this yet. Maybe this weekend…Let’s see. I know there are tons of WordPress plugins out there that work like a real charm.

Gosh, I hate spams! I swear I really do… My sweet revenge soon. Haha!

Anyway, it’s time to hit the sack!

UPDATE (June 20, 2008): I’ve just installed the [download#1] plugin to fight trackback spams. Let’s see if it will work like a charm! I will install it on my other sites too. Happy blogging! Oh by the way, one of my sponsors just paid me $77 for the reviews I wrote for them!

After four months, ngayon lang ako nakapag-change ng layout for this site! Hahaha. Nakakatamad kasi mag-edit-edit. Anyway, the layout I’m using now is made by Karen. Ang ganda, di ba? She’s one of the nicest bloggers that I have come across online. She even edited the image map (the menu at the top) so it will match my blog. Galing! Thanks for letting me use it, sis. You’re very talented and creative. I love your work. Mwaahh!

Moving forward, I also wanna thank Claire for letting me use her Pink-Love layout eversince this site has started. Here’s the screenshot.

I was just uploading new plugins to my Cpanel and for some reason this specific plugin I was working on made everything on my sidebar disappear. So I checked what was wrong. Then I found out that all my plugins created a duplicate at wp-content//plugins (see the two forward slashes?) It is supposed to go to wp-content/plugins (the one with a single forward slash) only. But somehow I had duplicate plugins on both directory.

So thinking that the plugins are really duplicate, I deleted all my plugins located at wp-content//plugins. But when I checked the other directory, the plugins were gone as well.

Now i’m gonna have to start all over again. I wanna cry! I don’t even have a back up of all my files. When I checked my current theme, the sidebar.php is also gone. I don’t know why it got affected.

All I know is that all the time I spent working on this blog just vanished into thin air. Leaving me with  no trace at all. Shame on me.

P.S: Hihimatayin ata ako! Please let me know if there’s still a way for me to retrieve those files back. I need them so badly. Naku, aatakehin yata ako sa puso! Huhuhu.
